When four mechanical contracting veterans formed Enginuity LLC in 2002, the goal was to apply innovative engineering to every job. Seven years later, that quartet has built a 66-person outfit, a spin-off company, and an enviable growth trajectory.
Based in Mechanicsburg, Enginuity has designed and built mechanical systems for LEED projects throughout Central PA, including new construction, energy retrofits, restorations and tenant fitouts. It also offers comprehensive industrial services and commercial and institutional services.
Enginuity has grown quickly, making the Central Penn Business Journal's 50 Fastest Growing Companies the last four years. It has also been named to the Inc. 5000 list as well as the Hot 100 list from Entrepreneur magazine and Pricewaterhouse Coopers. The company was also awarded the Green Star from the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) in 2008.
It spun its sister company, Enginuity Energy, out in 2008. It specializes in helping clients achieve their energy reduction and sustainability goals. It's also working on developing regional power stations throughout the region that run entirely on local, existing aspects of fuel stocks that will decompose in nature, like chicken manure, wood chips or other food production biproducts.
Enginuity recently opened a second facility less than a half-mile away that it built using sustainable design (solar panels on roof, water reclamation, recycled materials) and will house its service and warehousing teams.
