Keystone Nano, a rapidly growing biotech firm near State College, has licensed two Penn State patents and developed unique nano-particle technology called NanoJackets™ that will be used for enhanced cancer therapies.
CEO Jeff Davidson says there is no comparable platform of nano-delievery technology on the market today.
Essentially, NanoJackets™ are a drug delivery system designed to address common problems with current cancer therapies such as poor solubility, high toxicity, or limited ability to penetrate biological barriers.
Davidson and partners James Adair, Mark Kester and Robert Cornwall founded the company in 2005 and hired their first employee in 2006. The company received Ben Franklin Technology Partner investments in June 2006, June 2007 and September 2008.
