Braydon Johnson McCormick might be best described as a connector. The holder of a doctorate in music from Boston University has long merged media with technology, starting with the design of Fidelity Investments' infrastructure for portfolio management sites and later the organization of digital music files through his Bethlehem-based company rVibe.  

Since moving into the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeast PA incubator at Lehigh University under the banner of Johnson McCormick Technologies in 2004, the former commuter has grown his technology to serve a variety of needs.

Most recently, rVibe has developed live, high-definition Internet video that enables real-time video conferencing on a large scale. This allows customers, mostly mid- and large-sized pharmaceutical and medical device companies, to save money on meetings and training through video conferencing. The technology is also used to stream live concerts and theater to an online audience, including integration of e-commerce functionality, as well as in education for seminars, conferences, lectures and classes.

The company has also developed its video technology for use in television, allowing TV stations to acquire video through the Internet rather than clunky satellite trucks. The technology is being tested by stations and being prepped for distribution. A recent $100,000 investment from Ben Franklin enabled the company to add sales staff and market its products.
