As a result, the Indiana-based company, which has positioned itself to take on laboratory testing work for companies working in Marcellus Shale, earned the
Chairman's Award for Pittsburgh Impact Companies last month. Environmental Service Laboratories is among those few "impact" companies in Pennsylvania that account for 74 percent of new jobs, as identified by the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance's
Pittsburgh Impact initiative.
The company, which is accredited to perform analytical testing, consulting and field sampling services on things like drinking water and natural gas, is expanding its Washington facility further west in PA to take advantage of opportunities in Ohio.
