Harrisburg's technology corridor is getting a jumpstart with a state-funded extension that will take a revamped approach to bringing tech-based businesses back to the area, reports the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal.
The state's enterprise zones spur economic development in financially disadvantaged communities through revolving loan funds and competitive grants for businesses, tax credits for property development and state contract benefits.
The state often renews zones after their initial seven-year period if the operating organization can demonstrate that the economy has hurt growth there, Elliot said.
