LoRes-TV: Philadelphia2035 Master Plan Approved

Hundreds of meetings. Tons of input. Myriad voices. One plan.
Philadelphia2035,
the comprehensive master plan that will guide land-use decisions in the
fifth-largest city in America and the hub of the ninth-largest economy
in the world, was adopted by the
City Planning Commission last Tuesday before much fanfare at
Moore College of Art and Design.
An
18-month process that aimed to be inclusive and thorough produced a
200-plus page plan that will guide city development for the next quarter
century. The plan includes an emphasis on preserving open space,
historic areas and public spaces, connecting transportation and
utilities, and
public health, and will be implemented by residents, the private sector and community organizations.
In addition, the most recent graduates of the
Citizens Planning Institute and the launch of Philadelphia2035's individual
