Talk about innovation. Only in Williamsport, which has hosted the
Little League World Series since the home team beat Lock Haven 16-7 in the first installment in 1947, can baseball fans find instant replay, which has been increasingly called for at the Major League level in recent years.
Germany's entry earned a
2-1 win over Plymouth, Minn. thanks to instant replay's reversal of an out call at first base that allowed the winning run to eventually score on Monday. This is one of the many reasons all eyes are on Williamsport through Sunday, when the championship will be held at Lamade Stadium at 3 p.m. (broadcast nationally by ABC).
