PA tech companies to vie for $100K Big Idea Business Plan Contest

on

Tech-minded entrepreneurs are on notice: The Ben Franklin Investment Forum will award $100,000 to a technology-oriented startup company that wants to bring an innovative process or product to market. To apply, you just need an idea, a promising business plan, and locate or relocate the business somewhere in the 32-county operating area.

The $100,000 grand prize is four times the size of previous Big Idea Business Plan Contests.

“We are always proud of the folks who participate in our contests and, of course, of those who win. But we’ve come to learn that everyone in the Commonwealth wins when we support the efforts of those who are willing to take the first step to becoming business owners,” says Stephen Brawley, President and CEO of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern Pennsylvania.

Application deadline for the contest is December 17, 2008; final judging will be March 31, 2009. For contest rules and qualifications, go here.
