The Kutztown Folk Festival is something of an institution in Pennsylvania. For one week every year, the event explores and resurrects the old Pennsylvania Dutch ways with hundreds of craftspeople, live music and dancing, demonstrations of early farming and building techniques, seminars on dialect and Pennsylvania Dutch traditions (including a reenactment of a 19th-century hanging) and of course plenty of food and quilts.
