Spectacle: Salvaging Creativity in York

on

Piles of trash are pure inspiration for Patrick Sells and Casey Tyrrell. They re-invent anything in the built environment by salvaging bare-bones materials. The duo operate Salvaging Creativity, which has long outgrown its modest 140 square foot silo in Whitehall, Md. and resides in a (surprise) repurposed historic factory building in York, salvages metals, stone, concrete, wood and glass to create architectural elements, furniture, structures, lighting, signage and streetscapes.

The latter can be seen throughout downtown York, as our adventurous photograhper Brad Bower found out earlier this winter.
